Music: I STILL love Her...

 

My whole entire life, music has had a profound effect on my entire being. Music is like that female friend that you have. We all know how catty females can be. You have that love-hate relationship with them. Although they can do you wrong, and tell all of your business, you can't help but love her. You can't help but want to listen to all her problems, give her advice, and then tell her off for telling your business. You still love her, even through all of her faults...

The "Hood Rat" Epidemic

So for the past year, I have used the term "hood rat" or "rat" a lot. For some reason, there seems to be an uproar of them. We have always had, the "ghetto girls," heck, Bow Wow even made a song for them to make them feel special. But, when did it become an "okay" thing to be one? Why are groupies, who I also call "rats" glorified for their groupie-ish and rat-ish ways? Why are we no longer looking up to figures like, Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, or Maya Angelou. What happened to those girls?

Double Standards

Was having a conversation with a friend, and double standards came about. We were watching Marsha Ambrosius' video "Far Away," and he asked , "Why couldn't it be two women?" I replied, "What does it matter, they are both homosexual. He said, "It's different, we don't want to see that. It's a double standard." For the life of me, I will never understand why it is so convenient for men to use the term "double standards," whenever it suits them.

Runaway

Sometimes, you just have to call YOURSELF out and with Kanye West's "Runaway" I knew exactly what he meant. I have gone through most of my life being happy, and a social butterfly. But, I wasn't always the nicest person, at all. I had no problem telling people off and not apologizing. Apologize for what? I always felt like I was right, so there was no need to apologize. As I got older, I realized how wrong and rude I was.

Why everyone always "hating" on my "swag"?

So, @Bossip posted on Twitter today: "Do you guys feel like people throw the word "hater" around too much?" And I replied "Hater is going down with other words like "Swag"...ugh" and they asked the question " Is swag really gone?" I vote "Yes" on issue swag/hater! There are so many people who toss these words around on a daily basis and don't know the definition of them, and they don't describe them! Then they going around saying "You just hatin on my swag!" First off, who are this imaginary "haters," and what "swag?"

Black History Month: Embracing "US"

The month of February is a time where we celebrate "US" as a people. We celebrate those who have, and still are helping to uplift our race. It is a time where think about where we are in this life, and how we got here. It is also a time where we teach our sons and daughters about our history. It is a time that is all "OURS"

The Game (More of my thoughts...)

So, everyone knows that I am a fan of the tv show "The Game." When I heard that it was coming back, I was excited. Yea, I was on the fence about it because it was coming out on BET. BET hasn't had a good show in a while, and my skepticalness was running full speed. Well, I guess I should have listened to my inner self, because BET has screwed up a show that was once amazing!

Lately, I have been saying over and over, I wish that I could make up the things that happen to me. Like seriously, some of the things people say and do, to me, they have to be made up. This is not real, it is all a nightmare. I wake up the next day and realize, no J., that really happened to you. It wasn't some elaborate though process that are in the back of ur miniscule brain, no you were wide awake! How can this be?

So, am I really a boy?

So, for the past month, I have heard "J., ur a boy" so many times, I could choke someone. Now, I have always been a little tomboy-ish, but I had never been called a boy! LOL. My sister keeps saying it, and I am like...No I'm not! So, I've compiled a list of things I like to do...but does it make me a boy? ( I don't think so!)

So, in my short life, I have learned so many things about men. I have also learned that a lot of men and women think alike. Yes, you have the old adage that women are emotional and men are physical. But, things have definitely changed, it's 2011 for pete's sake! Women are no longer sitting back waiting on their prince charming, they are out there looking for him, spitting game to him, loving and leaving them, shacking up with no commitment, just like males have been known to do for so long. So, you find yourself with a new boo (male or female), which is cool, maybe even think it may go further than the "boo-thang" stage, so you ignore the signs and that rumble in your stomach telling you something is off. Well, if you think he/she is going to stay...you's a fool shawty!

Top Female Artists with NO vocal talents!

In the music industry today, all I see is plastic barbies. "Perfect" faces, "Perfect" hair, "Perfect" bodies. With all of the this "perfection" being constantly enhanced, there is no need to worry about how they sound. As long as you "look good," there is really no need to have much talent at all. Long gone are the days where you had to pack a powerhouse voice for someone to even listen to you, let alone buy your record/album/cd. Nowadays with the uprisal of music being made in a studio instead of real using real instruments, and of course auto-tune, there is no need for you to be able to sing at all.

Why I want to marry Lavell William Crump!!

I have always had a thing for strong, intelligent, black men. I've been spoiled in my life because I grew up around those types of men, including my brothers. I have a host of uncles who have set this same example, so of course, the man that I want has to be all of those, plus more. I think I have finally found him, and so, I think I want to marry him!

Women are "F-ed" up!

                              
As we all know, women are emotional creatures by nature. Of course we have the ones that "Act" like they have no feelings, but we all know the truth. Regardless if you "act" like you don't care, and you have your "fuck the world" mentality, everyone knows,  you do care. Why? To put it bluntly, because you are a woman. It is your very being to be emotional. Because of this, we are fucked up!

I was doing my daily run on different sites, and on Bossip.com I was able to view Marsha Ambrosius new video "Far Away". The song itself is absolutely beautiful, but the video will probably raise more attention than the song itself.
